National Science Day celebration:

*National Science Day Celebration at Saranathan College of Engineering*

On 28th February 2025, Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Vidyalaya (MGCV) collaborated with Saranathan College of Engineering to celebrate National Science Day. The event was attended by students from classes VII, VIII, and IX, along with their teachers.

*Inaugural Ceremony*

The day began with an invocation to the gods, followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Mrs. Kumudini from MGCV delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the day’s events.

*Significance of National Science Day*

Dr. R Natarajan, Head of R&D at Saranathan College of Engineering, spoke about the significance of National Science Day. He emphasized the importance of day by speaking about Sir CV Raman who discovered Raman’s Effect. He also emphasized the importance of science in our daily lives and encouraged students to develop a curiosity-driven approach to learning.

*Competition Briefing*

Mrs. K Abitha from MGCV briefed the students about the National Science Day competitions held at MGCV. She also briefed about the activities conducted by Vigyan Club during this year. She congratulated the prize winners and encouraged all participants to continue exploring the wonders of science.

*Winning Speeches*

The prize winners of the speech competition delivered their winning speeches in front of the gathering. Their confident and articulate presentations impressed everyone, showcasing their knowledge and passion for science.

*Special Address*

The Chief Guest, Dr. Prem Jagadeesan, delivered a special address, inspiring the students to pursue careers in science and technology. He emphasized the need for innovation and creativity in addressing real-world problems. He also spoke about AI and it’s importance.

*Prize Distribution*

The Chief Guest distributed prizes to all the winners, congratulating them on their achievements. The students beamed with pride as they received their awards, surrounded by their peers and teachers.
