Our Vidyalaya commemorated the 78th Independence Day with immense zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration began with Matru Vandhanam, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony led by Mrs. S. Kumudini, Head of the English Department. Our esteemed Principal, Mrs. A Poorna, and Vice Principal, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi R, presided over the function, marking the significance of the day.

The event was further enriched by soulful performances from our music students, who sang the flag song and the Tamil Thaivazthu, infusing the occasion with patriotic fervor. The day also featured an impressive display of discipline and coordination through a March past performed by the students of classes IX and X.

The Kindergarten students participated in a lively fancy dress competition, adding a touch of innocence and creativity to the celebrations. The highlight of the day was the students’ speeches in multiple languages—English, Tamil, Hindi, and Sanskrit—where they paid tribute to various freedom fighters.

A captivating skit brought to life the contributions of prominent leaders such as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru. Their pivotal sayings and heroic deeds were poignantly portrayed, reminding everyone of the values they stood for.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes by our Principal, Mrs. Poorna, celebrating the efforts and talents of the students. The day was a wonderful blend of tradition, patriotism, and youthful exuberance, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
